Contact lens is categorized as a medical device in Malaysia.
Therefore it is a product which has to be prescribed by an Optometrist.
Upmost care must be taken to ensure that the patient is wearing a correct type of lens for his/her eye as permanent adverse effect may happen to the person eyes.

Person who uses contact lens must ensure the following:

= Comprehensive eye examination
= Follows advice as to the type of lens that is suitable for wear given by the Optometrist
= Trial fits may be necessary
= Regular Follow-up
